This car still looks modern after 32 years.  There is no mistaking this Pininfarina design as a Ferrari and may be one of the most recognizable designs of all time.  The pre 1980 models with their 4 2-barrel down draft carbs really sing too.  These cars used an all alluminum high revving 3 liter V8 with dual overhead cams to power it down the road.  It may not fast in a straight line like todays cars are but has the finess to stay wound up mid corner and maximize the exit speed.

This was a futuristic design in the mid 70's featuring a mid mounted motor installed transverse in the chassis for a compact fit.  Also, it gives this sports car optimal weight distribution making it a brilliant handling car in any comparison.  The 308 has evolved through several updates into the current Ferrari F458 and is still regarded as the must have for any serious sports car collector.  The 308 will always feel at home in the company of Ferrari's more modern and certaily more expense products.  Some consider the 308 GTS an entry level Ferrari but make no mistake, it is a real Ferrari!
